Shiodome room view

The room

Economy Double Tower View — 20m² with a queen bed, high on floors 26-38F. The "Tower View" means you're looking at Tokyo Tower and the city skyline. Hama-rikyu Gardens should also be visible below. Compact room, but the elevation and view are the draw — at 100+ metres up, the night cityscape is impressive.

Why this location

Shiodome/Shimbashi is a strategic base for the final three days in Tokyo:

  • Ginza — 10 min walk. High-end shopping, architecture, galleries.
  • Tsukiji Outer Market — 10 min walk. The street food market (the inner wholesale market moved to Toyosu, but the outer market remains and is excellent).
  • Hama-rikyu Gardens — 10 min walk. Peaceful Edo-era garden with a tea house on a tidal pond. Calm, uncrowded, architecturally interesting.
  • Teamlab (if open) — various locations accessible from Shiodome.
  • Akihabara — 15 min by JR Yamanote. Electronics, arcades, anime/manga culture. Dennison's territory.
  • Shibuya / Shinjuku / Harajuku — 20-25 min by JR Yamanote.

Narita departure

Your final flight departs from Narita (NRT) on May 12. From Shimbashi:

OptionRouteTimeCost
Toei Asakusa LineShimbashi → Narita (through-service, no transfer)~100 min~¥1,300
Narita Express (N'EX)Shimbashi → Tokyo Stn → Narita~90 min~¥3,250
Limousine BusDirect from Shiodome area~2 hrs~¥3,200
Easiest option

The Toei Asakusa Line from Shimbashi runs through-service to Narita via Keisei Access Express — no transfer, cheapest, and the station is a 3 min walk. For speed, N'EX from Tokyo Station is faster but requires a transfer at Shimbashi.

May 12 departure

CX6323 departs Narita. Allow 3+ hours total from hotel to gate (check-out, travel, immigration, terminal navigation). Double-check terminal closer to the date.

Ryan notes

High-floor rooms (26F+) mean good city views and sound insulation from the streets below. The Shiodome complex is a modern urban development — wide walkways, low street-level chaos. The Dentsu Building by Jean Nouvel is right next door (notable modern architecture). Hama-rikyu Gardens is the standout calm activity — 5 min walk, Edo-era garden with a tea house on a tidal pond. The area is a business district, so evenings and weekends are quieter than Shinjuku/Shibuya.
