Canvas Sapporo interior

The room

The Cabin Floor is designed like a mountain cabin retreat — the bed is surrounded by Hokkaido-grown timber on walls and ceiling, creating a warm cocoon feel. The Park View faces Odori Park with a direct sightline to the Sapporo TV Tower, which lights up at night.

What makes it interesting

Japan's first high-rise hybrid wooden hotel. The interior uses Hokkaido timber extensively — warm, natural feel throughout. The concept is "Experiencing Hokkaido" through local materials and design.

Nearby

  • Odori Park — the long green belt running through central Sapporo. Right outside. Good for morning walks.
  • Sapporo TV Tower — views over the park and city, 5 min walk east along Odori Park.
  • Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade — covered shopping street, 3 min walk south.
  • Susukino — Sapporo's entertainment/dining district, 10 min walk south or 1 subway stop.
  • Nijo Market — smaller, less touristy fish market, 10 min walk. Fresh seafood, uni, crab.
  • Sapporo Ramen Alley (Ramen Yokocho) — in Susukino, multiple miso ramen shops.

Sapporo split

You're in Sapporo for 4 nights total, split across two hotels. This first hotel (Canvas) is right at Odori — the geographic centre. The second hotel (Sosei MGallery) is at Sapporo Factory, a 15 min walk northeast. The split gives you two different neighborhoods to explore.
